If you want a storybook version of England, the England you imagine from the movies, then you need to get yourself to the Cotswolds.
The Cotswolds is impossibly quaint, offering visitors the chance to experience the idyllic appeal of the English countryside. Complete with honey stone villages, cottage gardens, quirky tearooms, and rolling green pastures, the Cotswolds oozes old-world charm and is as pretty as it gets.
We are luckily enough to live on the edge of this dedicated area of outstanding natural beauty and love to visit the different villages, viewpoints, and walking trails with our kids as often as we can.
It’s definitely a must-see area of the UK if you are coming from overseas – only 2 hours by car from London and well connected by train, making it a great option as a side trip from the capital.
